Birth Doula Packages

What does it look like to work together and what does the financial exchange include?

First things first…so, what is a doula?

Doula - “a person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth” (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

“Doula support during pregnancy, birth, and during the postpartum period has been shown to be an effective best practice that can enhance the birthing experience, reduce complications, and improve outcomes for women and infants.”
(
Doula Care and Maternal Health: An Evidence Review - Office of Health Policy, 2022, Knocke, Chappel, Sugar, et al)

“…doulas have been found to reduce cesarean section frequency, low birth weight, and premature labor. Evidence shows that decreased cesarean sections have led to better outcomes for the mother and the child. Doula intervention has also been correlated with a decrease in epidural use during delivery, increased rates of breastfeeding, and the use of safety precautions for the child.”

Variation of the sliding scale

A variation of “sliding scale” services are available for those unable to meet their basic needs (food, shelter, healthcare, or transportation), teenagers, those with chronic illness and medical debt, and those experiencing financial hardship due to significant debt, immigration related expenses, being differently-abled, relational abuse, or any extenuating circumstances. This looks like discussing what if feasible so trauma-informed doula support can be available to you! Please reach out via my contact page to discuss more.

My rates otherwise are for those who are able to meet their basic needs and have expendable income.

You’ll also note that my packages have an “A” and “B” category. This is explained below (and inspired by “Warts and Cunning LLC”) —

NOTE: I cannot and will not assume or categorize you for your family. I utilize an honor system so you can reflect on what is true and real for your family’s financial needs and capabilities.

In addition, a higher contribution for our financial exchange together goes directly to support clients who would not otherwise be able to afford trauma-informed doula support.

You may fall into category…

“A” (middle scale) if you are able to meet your basic needs regularly (despite stress being potentially present), are employed, own or lease a car, have access to healthcare, have debt that does not stop you from meeting your basic needs, have expendable income and can choose to buy items new or used, can take vacations annually should you choose

“B” (upper scale) if you are able to meet your basic needs regularly, are employed or do not need to work to meet your needs, own or lease multiple cars, own your home/property or rent a higher-end property, have debt that does not stop you from meeting your basic needs, have expendable income and buy items new when desired, have access to healthcare of choice, can take vacations annually without much stress

**Note: Rates & packages have been updated for 2026**
